GUJRANWALA: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Amir Jaan said that disabled persons are an important part of our society. The government, society and the public should shoulder the responsibility to assist them in their brave efforts to acquire self-confidence and self-reliance. He was addressing a ceremony organized by the social welfare department to distribute Eid gifts among disabled persons at Gill road, Gujranwala. MPA Toufeeq Ahmed Butt, deputy director social welfare Muhammad Zubair, chief executive Garden Town Iftikhar Ahmed and chairman special persons foundation Hafiz Muhammad Muzammal were also present at the occassion. DC said he saluted those with disabilities for their resolve and determination to make their lives fruitful. Much remains to be done on our part to enable them to lead as normal lives as possible. MPA Toufeeq Butt while addressing the ceremony has called for giving special attention to the rights of persons with disabilities so that they could be made effective citizens of society.
