LAHORE: The provincial and local leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Monday distributed sweets among party workers and they along with PPP jiyalas celebrate their party’s victory in Karachi and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) by-elections. The party leadership reposed its confidence in PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and expressed hope of winning the next general elections. Both Saeed Ghani – who clinched victory in PS-114 by-poll in Karachi and Javed Hussain, who won with an overwhelming majority in GB by-poll – have dedicated their victory to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. PPP Lahore president Azizur Rehman Chann along with party’s Central Executive Council (CEC) member Aurangzab Barki, former general secretary Mian Munir Ahmad celebrated the victory of their at the residence of Dr Muhammad Yousaf Awan. On this occasion, sweets were distributed among workers, who were charged and shouting slogans in favour the party leadership. Addressing the gathering, Chann said those who were thinking that the PPP had weakened were living in the heaven of fools, as the recent victory in Karachi and GB by-polls had proved that the ideology PPP would remain alive. Barki said that voters of Karachi and Gilgit-Biltistan had reposed their confidence in the party leadership. He said that the PPP would stand victorious in the next general elections. Separately, Mian Muhammad Ayub expressed hope that the PPP would win a good number of seats from central Punjab in the coming elections. PPP workers were of the view that their party would succeed to hunt both the “right-wing” parties – the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) by its “progressive and pro-people policies”.
