LAHORE: Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza of the Lahore High Court on Thursday sought rejoinder from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and business tycoon Jehangir Tareen to the reply submitted by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on his petition challenging notice for recovery of wealth tax. The court ordered Jehangir Tareen to file his reply until December 16. The counsel for the FBR in reply to the petition had claimed that Jehangir Tareen was a defaulter, and that he had to pay Rs 420 million under the head of wealth tax. He said that the FBR had sent a notice in accordance with law, and requested the court to dismiss the petition. Tareen, in his petition, maintained that the bureau was allegedly victimising him on political grounds, as he was among those demanding investigation into Panama leaks.
