LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial leaders, including Dr Sajid and Tajamul Heera defected to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) along with their 50 companions on Monday. Former Punjab governor and PTI senior leader Chaudhry Sawar welcomed the new comers in the party. Speaking on the occasion, Sarwar said the corruption was the manifesto of the PML-N. “They will be held accountable for their misdeeds and corruption.” Expressing concern over former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s plan to travel to Lahore in a caravan on Grand Trunk Road, Sarwar termed it an deliberate attempt to undermine judiciary. “The PML-N was setting a bad precedent by defying the court’s verdict,” he said, adding: “We won’t allow the PMLN to derail the democratic set-up to hide their looted wealth and escape accountability. The PTI will defeat these tactics of the PML-N under the leadership of Imran Khan and with the help of people of Pakistan.” He said that the PTI was the guardian of constitution and democratic set-up. “Earlier, they presented fake documents in the Supreme Court and now they are trying to make the nation fool.” Meanwhile, Dr Sajid and Tajamul Heera expressed their confidence in the leadership of the PTI. “The PTI is striving to rid country of corruption, injustice, load shedding and inflation,” they said.
