ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Finance will discuss and review Tax Reforms Commission in its meeting to be held on Wednesday. The committee would review direct and indirect taxes, custom tariff rationalisation, autonomy and administrative structure of Federal Board of Revenue and creation of border force to deal with illegal movement of persons and goods across international borders. According to a notification, the committee would also consider Corporate Restructuring Companies Bill, 2016 as passed by the National Assembly which referred to the committee on April, 15 for consideration. The report of the committee is required to be presented to the House on or before June, 14, 2016. Furthermore, the committee would also consider Deposit Protection Corporation Bill, 2016 as passed by the National Assembly and it was referred to the committee on April, 2 and the committee is required to present it to the House on or before Jun 21, 2016. Likewise, the body would also consider the Financial Institutions (Secured Transactions) Bill, 2016 as passed by the National Assembly and it was referred to the committee on April, 22. The committee would also discuss further details of budget allocated, released and spent in respect of all the schemes of Finance Division under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), 2015-16.
