KARACHI: Sindh Rangers conducted an operation in Lyari and killed three suspected terrorists, a spokesperson of the paramilitary force said on Thursday. A gun battle ensued when Rangers raided a house in Chakiwara and killed the three militants in exchange of fire. They also recovered hand grenades and firearms. The deceased were identified as Khan Darvesh, Arshad Khan and Habeebullah. The spokesperson said all three belonged to the banned Taliban outfit. The law and order situation in Karachi deteriorated last week when prominent qawwal Amjad Sabri was gunned down in Liaquatabad and barrister Owais Ali Shah was kidnapped from a supermarket in Clifton. A series of meetings between the country’s top civil and military leadership reaffirmed their resolve to fight militancy and terrorism by breaking the back of terrorists and their financiers.
