ISLAMABAD: The famous three-day Shandoor Polo Festival would kick off on Friday, July 29, in Chitral, according to an official of Tourism Corporation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) He also added that the festival, which was regularly organised every year from July 7 to July 9, was rescheduled this year, firstly due to Eid-ul-Fitr and then, because of monsoon season. Shandoor Polo Festival is considered to be one of the biggest festivals in Pakistan where Polo matches are played between the teams of Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as free-style matches. Those passionate for the game of Polo eagerly wait for this festival organised on the world’s highest Polo ground. Every year, Shandoor invites visitors to experience a traditional Polo tournament between the teams of Chitral and Gilgit. The festival also includes folk music, folk dances and traditional sports.
