BRADFORD: The case of deceased British-Pakistani woman Samia Shahid has taken a new twist when Samia’s Uncle came forward and told that his niece was never killed for honour but had died of heart attack. According to her uncle Imran Wahid, four days after Samia had reached Pakistan he received the news of her heart attack. He said that whatever media has been reporting is a lie. Imran also questioned that if his niece had entered into Nikkah once, then how can a second one be conducted over it? He also fears that Samia was made to marry a guy in Britain to get British nationality. Samia Shahid was a British-Pakistani national who had arrived in Pakistan to visit her family in July. However, a few days after her return, she was mysteriously found dead. Samia had married Syed Mukhtar Kazam in England which allegedly did not sit well with Samia’s parents. Her husband claimed that he had been informed by her parents that Samia had passed away due to a heart attack. However, he suspected that Samia had been murdered by her family in a case of honour killing. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced the formation of a committee on Thursday which would present a report on the murder after 72 hours.
