ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senior Leader Qamar Zaman Kaira turned down the report of Dawn Leaks by saying that “it was expected that the government would try to put the Dawn Leaks matter under the carpet”. While talking to media he said that first Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed then Tariq Fatemi was made scapegoat to save the skin of actual culprit behind the leak. He said that if Tariq Fatemi has taken this step then it is treason and he should have been in jail. He said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan accepted that he knew those responsible who leaked the news to the reporter of Dawn then why action was not taken against them and why they were not put behind the bars. He said that on one hand the judges and the courts jolted the PPP’s government over Memo gate scandal but on the other side the government put the dawn leaks in the doldrums and no court came into action against them. He said that PPP will devise strategy after consultation in this regard.
