PESHAWAR – Ambassador of Switzerland to Pakistan Marc P George on Friday called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and discussed matters of mutual interests. They also discussed possibilities of future cooperation between the Pakhtunkhwa government and Switzerland. On the occasion, the chief minister informed the Swiss ambassador about the strategy of the provincial government to develop sectors of tourism, hydel power generation and environment. He said that sites were being indentified and feasibility studies were completed for utilisation of canal water to generate cheap electricity through small of hydel power generation projects. Possibilities to cooperate in developing mechanism for scattered terraced agriculture in mountainous areas, small hydel power generation and tourism were also discussed. The ambassador suggested need of a pragmatic and practical strategy for future cooperation between the Pakhtunkhwa government and Switzerland. Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan and Additional Chief Secretary Mohammad Azam Khan were also present on the occasion.
