ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen has said the government is slinging mud on political opponents to divert attention of the nation from the Panama leaks involving the Sharif family. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that a media cell at Prime Minister’s House headed by prime minister’s daughter had unleashed a propaganda campaign against political opponents at the cost of public money. He termed the media cell a “factory of lies”. The PTI leader said that he had declared all his assets and all his tax records were available. “I have paid more than Rs1 billion tax in five years,” he claimed, asking the prime minister to declare details of his assets and taxes he paid. He urged Nawaz Sharif to tell the nation how did he buy flats in London. “Tax evasion is equal to money laundering. If you have no tax record then you (prime minister) are not even eligible for the public office,” he said.
