RAWALPINDI: Heavy shelling of teargas in Liaquat Bagh area of Rawalpindi took the life of a toddler, a local news channel reported on Friday. The 4 year-old, who struggled to breathe, was rushed to a local hospital where he could not survive. A rally near Lal Haveli had been announced by AML, which was to be addressed by the PTI chairman and AML chief. Police and local administration used multiple manoeuvres to stop the rally from taking place, which included shelling of teargas in an attempt to scatter workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Awami Muslim League (AML). The gas affected a large number of residents and bystanders, while several were admitted to hospital. PTI Chairman Imran Khan held the Punjab government responsible for this tragic death of an infant. Shocked & saddened by death of 3-day old child due to shelling by govt in Committee Chowk. Punjab govt solely responsible for this tragedy. — Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) October 28, 2016 [removed][removed]
