LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has strongly condemned the arrests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) workers at a convention. “We warn that such action will be met by a strong reaction,” this was stated by PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur – while addressing a press conference along with PTI leader Ch Sarwar – on Thursday. Gandapur said that if need be PAT Chairman Tahirul Qadri will arrive in Pakistan within 24 hours. He requested the court to stop the police raiding, arresting and harassing of the PAT and PTI workers. Gandapur said that the Islamabad sit-in was discussed in detail and that PAT leaders will meet PTI Chief Imran Khan in the ‘Lal Haveli’. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will have to present himself for accountability in the ‘Panama Leaks’ case. The PAT leader demanded that the judicial commission report on the Model Town tragedy be issued immediately. “The government has lost its mind and it seems that even before the Nov 02 sit-in the PTI protest is proving to be successful,” they said.
