KARACHI – Karachi National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director General Lt Col (r) Sirajul Naeem has said that NAB is committed to eradicate corruption by adopting zero tolerance policy across under the leadership of NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry. He said on Thursday while addressing at Anti-Corruption Seminar for Executing and Implementing agencies was organised by Asian Development bank (ADB) at Avari Towers Hotel in Karachi. In his address to delegates on ‘Say No to Corruption’ session, he said that projects of billion of rupees are beautifully maintained on papers with very less development on ground. He said that the NAB was determined to eradicate corruption through awareness, prevention and enforcement initiatives. He also said that the Karachi NAB was taking preventive measures through formation of Prevention Committees. He informed that Rs. 5,046 million were recovered by NAB from HESCO defaulters, till April 21. The Karachi NAB DG further stated that after the appointment of Chaudhry Qamar Zaman as a chairman, the organisation have become more efficient, because of his efforts. Fresh SOPs were formulated having strict timelines to process any case. Sirajul Naeem said that this initiative made NAB one of the most efficacious and productive Anti-Corruption Agencies, both nationally and internationally. He said that NAB Karachi is utilizing all its resources to make corrupts accountable. He said that the NAB was utilizing all its resources in pursuit of holding corrupt accountable.
