ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced on Thursday that the Islamabad protest will be held at any cost on November 2. The party chief – while addressing the media in the federal capital – said that it was his legal and constitutional right to hold a peaceful protest and ‘I will exercise that right’. “I want to ask the judicial institutions to halt the government from taking anti-democratic and revengeful measures,” he said and added that PTI’s workers were being arrested and transporters were also being threatened. “My fervour, passion and enthusiasm increases every day and my conscience tells me that the darkness prevailing over Pakistan will be eliminated shortly,” Khan said. “We will change the fate of Pakistan on November 2 and no one has the power to stop us,” he said and added that using force against peaceful protesters is unconstitutional. The PTI chief warned the authorities to avoid confrontation with ‘peaceful protesters’ by saying, “The government has turned the Punjab police into Gulu Butt. I warn these officials to stay away from the protesters.” Khan urged the Islamabad police to avoid acting blindly upon the directions issued by the government against the party and advised them to ‘go by the book’.
