ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan removed Superintendent of Police (SP) Rizwan Gondal from his post on Monday, for allegedly damaging the reputation of the police department. The Minister took action on complaint of a citizen that SP Rizwan had caused rumpus in a lobby of a five-star hotel and also insulted the hotel administration. SP Rizwan arrested hotel manager on a petty matter and kept him under illegal custody. He was found guilty during initial investigation and in view of this the Minister had ordered a regular inquiry into the matter and directed the SP to report Establishment Division with immediate effect. Nisar said that SP Rizwan had damaged the reputation of police and there is no place for such people in the department. An official of the special branch had also been suspended for not providing the report about the incident.
