ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Solidarity Forum and the Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta, Indonesia, observed the Kashmir Black Day on Wednesday (July 27) in solidarity with the people of Jammu Kashmir. A large number of Indonesian nationals, members of Pakistani community and human rights organisations attended the seminar held at the Embassy of Pakistan, according to a message received here from Jakarta. A member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Ashraf Ali, Kashmir Solidarity Forum Chairman Dr Zahir Khan, and the Ambassador of Pakistan Mohammad Aqil Nadeem addressed the audiences. The speakers asked the Indonesian government, freedom loving people and the international community to support the rights of self-determination of the Kashmiri Muslims suffering the atrocities inflicted by the occupying Indian forces since the last 70 years. The recent uprising in Kashmir, following the killing of Kashmiri freedom movement leader Burhan Wani, is being suppressed brutally and has resulted in deaths of more than 50 people with at least 500 injured. It was reiterated that Pakistan would continue to support the struggle of the Kashmiri people morally and diplomatically. Special prayers were also offered for the departed souls.
