ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the enemies of the country were trying to create hurdles to halt the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. He said, while speaking in a TV programme, that the anti-state elements were promoting terrorism in Pakistan. The war against terrorism – being fought by Pakistan – was globally recognised as an example as there was no precedent in rest of the world. He further alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan also could not see ‘a prosperous Pakistan’. He said after success in the ‘war on terror’ and CPEC, Pakistan would be impregnable for enemies of the country and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would be impregnable for Imran Khan. Enemy countries were targeting Pakistan to destabilise it and internally, Khan was also targeting the prime minister, he said. Referring to his Tweet, Asif said that if Imran would target his leader – the prime minister – then he would also respond to him and added that he (Khawaja Asif) had just raised a question there.
