ISLAMABAD: Rain showers – accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds – are expected in the upper parts of the country in the next 24 hours while hot and dry weather to prevail in other parts of the country. It’s forecasted in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi divisions, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Weak seasonal low lies over north Balochistan .A shallow trough of westerly wave is still affecting Kashmir and adjoining areas, an official told APP. In the last 24 hours, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, rainstorms occurred at isolated places in Faisalabad, Sargodha, DG Khan, Hazara divisions and Kashmir. Rainfall recorded during this time span was: – Punjab: Shorkot 40mm, Layyah 24mm, Noorpurthal 03mm. – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul 03mm and Balakot 02mm. Maximum temperatures recorded on Saturday were Dadu 43 degree Celsius, Dalbandin 42 degree Celsius, Sukkur, Rohri, Nokkundi 41 degree Celsius, Hyderabad 39 degree Celsius, Multan 37 degree Celsius, Peshawar, Quetta 35 degree Celsius, Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad 34 degree Celsius, Muzaffarabad 33 degree Celsius, Gilgit, Chitral 32 degree Celsius, Islamabad, Dir 31 degree Celsius, Kalat 30 degree Celsius, Skardu 27 degree Celsius, Hunza 26 degree Celsius and Murree 20 degree Celsius.
