ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday sought reply from the concerned departments over the issue of eunuchs’ right to vote. The case filed by the She-Male Association of Pakistan was heard by Justice Athar Minallah. The petitioner pleaded the court to issue the directive for inclusion of third-sex in computerised national identity cards and to give them the right to vote. The petition asked for a special column in data collection form in the next national census for eunuchs. Secretary Interior, Secretary Ministry of Human Rights, Election Commission of Pakistan and Department of Statistics had been made respondents in the petition. After hearing the arguments, the court sought reply from the respondents and adjourned hearing of the case.
