NEW DELHI: India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Saturday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must know that “Kashmir can never become a part of Pakistan,” as whole India wants to tell Pakistani leader in one voice that his dream (of making disputed state its part) will never come true. “The whole of Jammu Kashmir belongs to India. You will never be able to make this heaven on earth a haven for terrorists,” she said in a statement issued here in response to Prime Minister Nawaz’s victory speech in Muzaffarabad, the capital city of Azad Jammu Kashmir. Sushma accused Pakistan of backing ‘militants’ with the help of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, who heads the Jamaatud Dawa, in order to turn the Kashmir valley of the disputed state into a living hell. “The prime minister (of Pakistan) says his prayers are with people of Kashmir. I must remind him that Pakistan has never prayed for the people of the valley but has given them pain in the form of terrorism,” she said. She also reacted on Nawaz Sharif’s condemnation of young Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani’s custodial killing and asked him why he described popular young leader (Wani) as a martyr despite knowing that he was a part of the Hizbul Mujahideen, a Kashmiri outfit. “We are waiting for the day Kashmir becomes Pakistan,” Nawaz told a large Kashmiri gathering in Muzaffarabad. He urged Kashmiris not to forget those in the occupied territory who are sacrificing their lives for their just right to self-determination, promised by the United Nations. “Their movement for freedom cannot be stopped and it will be successful. You are aware of how they are being beaten and killed (by the Indian forces). All our prayers are with them and we are waiting for the day Kashmir becomes Pakistan,” he said.
