LAHORE: An airhostess of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been handcuffed by police on Tuesday for trying to smuggle 2.5kg gold to the US. According to an official, airhostess Nuzhat Bokhari was going to New York on PIA flight PK-721 from the Allama Iqbal International Airport when customs officials discovered 2.5kg gold in her luggage and took her into custody. PIA spokesman Daniyal Gilani told journalists that strict action would be taken against the airhostess if found guilty. Meanwhile, the Anti-Narcotics Force arrested one Shahid of Sargodha who was trying to smuggle 1.5kg heroin to Riyadh from Lahore airport. Recently, the ANF arrested over a dozen PIA employees for allegedly smuggling 6kg heroin to Dubai from Lahore. Another employee has been taken into custody for his involvement in the smuggling case.
