ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday issued notices to the parties concerned in suo mottu case regarding illegal recruitment in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and adjourned the hearing till last week of September. A three-judge bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali conducted the hearing of the case. During the course of the hearing, Jamali observed that if recruitments in NAB were made on merit then the court would not interfere and if violation of law was proved in recruitments then action would be taken. At the inception of the hearing of the case the NAB’s prosecutor general appeared before the court and requested to grant the time of two weeks to submit reply. On this, Justice Qazi Fiaz Esa – member of the three-judge bench of apex court – inquired the reason of a late reply and that if recruitments were made on merit then the bureau should submit the reply. The court accepted NAB’s plea and granted a time of two weeks to submit the reply and adjourned the hearing till the last week of September.
