RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has approved the construction of a tunnel at the cost of Rs 850 million in Ammar Chowk. Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) will be the executing agency of this 90 meter long tunnel while NESPAK has been appointed the consultant of this project. The detailed designing of the project is at its final stage and work on this project will be started within one and a half month following completion of pre-qualification and open tendering process. The completion time of this project has been fixed as one year. The traffic flow at Ammar Chowk is being disrupted adversely due to the lack of the tunnel. The completion of the tunnel project will ensure smooth inflow and outflow of traffic to and from Garrison Headquarters uninterruptedly.
