UNITED NATIONS: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has assured Pakistan that China would continue to support its stance on Kashmir. Li Keqiang, while meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of UN General Assembly, said: “We support Pakistan and we will speak for Pakistan at every forum.” Keqiang said China would stand with Pakistan. “We support Pakistan and we will speak for Pakistan at every forum. We are thankful to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for investing huge resources for the safety and security of Chinese personnel in Pakistan.” The Chinese premier hoped that there would be better understanding of Pakistani position on Kashmir by the international community. He hoped that situation between India and Pakistan would not escalate. He said China was ready to play constructive role in improvement of relations between Pakistan and India. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Pak-China relations have entered a different phase, from political to economic one, which was a matter of great happiness for Pakistan. The PM showed his satisfaction on the state of Pak-China relations and welcomed the statement of China on the atrocities being committed in Indian-held Kashmir. Condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestation, Nawaz said Pakistan was committed to peace and stability in the region.
