ISLAMABAD: Former Ambassador Rustam Shah Muhmand said that peaceful resolution of border management issue through dialogue is imperative for Pak-Afghan bilateral relations in the region. Talking in a Radio Pakistan’s Current Affairs program, he said that Torkham border was of paramount importance for trade and for daily movement of people on both sides and closing of it might cause millions of dollars loss because of trans-border trade. He said that the relatives of refugees and common people traveled through this border and it might be problematic and a matter of serious concern if border was closed for uncertain time period. He added that both the governments must make it sure that Torkham and Chaman border did not get closed as they were important for trans-border movement and for economic activities.
