ISLAMABAD: In a meeting of the Senate on Thursday, the Human Rights Ministry informed the body that they had been allocated Rs 120 million during the last three years for different development projects. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shaikh Aftab Ahmad told the body during a question and answer session that the funds were spent in the completion of 12 Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Human Rights Centres for women in Punjab. He said work was also underway for the construction of hostels for working women in the G-6 and G-7 sectors of the capital for which purpose they had already acquired land. He said a helpline for legal advice on human rights violations had also been set up in the federal capital. To a question, Law Minister Zahid Hamid told the Senate that 36388 complaints against LESCO were received in the Federal Ombudsman office during the last three years, out of which 33478 had been decided. To another question, Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi told the Senate that construction work on the Nashpa Well No 6 pipeline had been completed in October last year. He said daily average production of the oil from the well was 3367 barrels and that of gas was 12 mmcfd.
