ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Ghous Muhammad Khan Niazi on Wednesday said that the government would utilised all available resources to provide required facilities to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan. While talking to Radio Pakistan, he paid tributes to sacrifices of tribal people of North Waziristan in war against militants, as it was a great sacrifice for protecting the motherland. IDPs were our brothers and sisters who had to leave their homes and livelihoods for the sake of operation, he said. The senator further said government and Pakistan Army both were serious to eradicate the threat of militants. Army Chief General Raheel Sharif had visited the troubled areas frequently to get the first-hand knowledge of life there, he added. Ghous Muhammad said that the President Mamnoon Hussain during his address to the parliament had announced to set aside Rs 100 billion for the IDPs. Before operation, these areas were considered as safe havens for militants. He expressed satisfaction over the peaceful return of the displaced persons to their homes and said that the situation had completely changed now, adding that education would play a major role in changing the mindset of people. The new generation of these areas would play a vital role in national development, he concluded.
