KARACHI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak visited the grave of the renowned philanthropist Dr Abdul Sattar Edhi here on Sunday. Accompanied by KPK Speaker Asad Qaisar and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, the chief minister laid floral wreath on Dr Edhi’s grave at Edhi village in Karachi. “To pay homage to Edhi and to continue his mission, we will do whatever we could,” Khattak said. He added that Imran Khan will also arrive in Karachi to condole Dr Edhi’s family. Earlier, the reports said that the KPK government had decided to allot free land for the establishment of Edhi Centers at government hospitals in Kohat, Swabi and Swat. President Mamnoon Hussain’s wife, Begum Mehmooda Hussain also paid visit to the residence of the late humanitarian Dr Abdul Sattar Edhi on Sunday and condoled over the philanthropist’s death with his family members. Begum Mehmooda was accompanied by her three daughter-in-laws during her visit to Dr Edhi’s residence. She met with Edhi’s widow, Bilquis Edhi, and other members of the family. The president’s wife recited the Holy Quran and prayed for Dr Edhi’s high ranks in the hereafter.
