PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Friday said the process of appointing 30,000 school teachers across the province would be completed this year. Addressing a public gathering in Tehsil and district Battagram, he said a total of 20,000 teachers have already been appointed and rest would be appointed during the current year, adding that basic missing facilities have also been provided to 13,000 government schools across the province. He said that provincial government has taken revolutionary measures in education sector to bring the government schools at par with private education institutions in provision of quality education. He deplored the previous governments’ policies in education sector and said that the politics in education sector and nepotism miserably affected the quality of education in KP. He explained that education is not the name of just buildings rather quality education and provision of basic facilities are very necessary to improve education. He further said that an independent monitoring unit has been set up to ensure presence of teachers at all government schools.
