ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Tuesdays accused India and elements at the western frontiers of fuelling terrorism – the biggest enemy of Pakistan. “There was a single enemy in 65, today we are confronted with foes at several fronts. Some enemies are across the border while others are internal but the biggest enemy is terrorism inside the country,” Asif said. The entire nation is celebrating the national Defence Day to honour and commemorate the sacrifices of Pakistan Army, whose soldiers gave their lives to defend their motherland, he said. India’s unprovoked act of aggression was met with a befitting response by Pakistan Army. Indian army violated Pakistan’s borders and attacked first at midnight on September 6, 1965 at Bambanwala Ravi Bediyan (BRB) Canal. A small contingent of Pakistan’s armed forces – including the valiant Major Aziz Bhatti – was able to hold back the enemy, despite being small in number.
