ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has asked his supporters to reach the federal capital on October 30 – as part of his anti-corruption campaign. “Do not be afraid of anything step out on October 30,” Khan told reporters on Thursday. Khan necessitated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif – at the ‘Raiwind march’ – to present himself for accountability until Muharram or else the party would ‘immobilise’ the federal capital. In April of this year, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) published the Panama Papers investigation – naming at least 640 Pakistanis as owners of offshore holdings. The PTI chairman said that either Nawaz resigns, and another prime minister from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) takes charge, or the prime minister presents himself for investigation. Commenting on his party’s decision to boycott the parliament’s joint session on Kashmir, Imran said that he couldn’t shake hands and raise slogans against Nawaz Sharif at the same time. – ‘Minus one formula’ – Khan also suggested officials of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to imitate the Muttahida Quami Movement’s (MQM) minus-one formula and get rid of Asif Ali Zardari. “I suggest the PPP to go for minus one formula like the MQM did because that’s the only way they can survive politically. Zardari has damaged the PPP more than any dictator could do,” Khan said. – Meanwhile in another event: “Congratulations, they (PML-N, PPP) were fighting today,” Khan was heard telling Assad Umar in a video aired by different news channels. Assad Umar had reportedly disagreed with Khan over the party’s decision to boycott the joint parliamentary session.
