ISLAMABAD –Arrest warrants of former senate chairman Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari issued on Thursday for slapping a policeman during snap checking in Islamabad. Magistrate Jawad Hussain issued the arrest warrants of Bokhari and ordered to arrest him and present before the court. Earlier, media reports stated that Bokhari tortured a policeman, but latest footages revealed that Bukhari’s son slapped an on-duty cop after being asked for a body search. Also, bodyguards of the former Senate chairman resorted to violence during the incident. Reportedly, the policeman who was slapped took the matter to the sessions judge, but he did not heed to his complaint. Bokhari is a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader from Islamabad and he served as Senate chairman from March 2012 to March 2015. The Islamabad police chief said that police personnel were rendering sacrifices for the safety of VIPs and they should not be treated the way Bokhari did.
