MULTAN: Multan police have sought help of three more companies of army to maintain law and order situation during Muharramul Haram. According to police, Multan police have got approval for deployment of two companies of army and two of rangers for security purpose during Muharram. The government has also gave approval to impose a ban on pillion riding and to suspend mobile phone service on Yaum-e-Ashura. The police have also sent application to impose a ban on pillion riding on 9th Muharram in order to ensure foolproof security arrangements. The sources said that Multan police had finalised security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during Muharram. The police had sought assistance of five companies of army and two companies of rangers, however, the approval has been given for deployment of two companies of each rangers and army. The police department has sent application to quarters concerned to get approval for deployment of three more companies of army and ban on pillion riding on 9th Muharram.
