LONDON – International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has named filmstar Veena Malik and her husband Assad Khattak ambassadors for the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The couple would visit the United States for fundraising. Veena told a private TV channel on Tuesday that she and her husband would visit different countries as part of the Red Cross efforts to raise funds for the displaced families of the tribal areas.
They will also meet representatives of different non-government organizations (NGO), associated with the United Nations. “I feel proud to address the issues prevailing in Pakistan. I and my husband want to work for human welfare,” the actress said.
