Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar, who has been trained in martial arts, encouraged women not to panic if they are being touched inappropriately. Rather, they should hit back without any hesitation. Akskay extensively discussed about the importance that knowing self-defense techniques yield for the safety of women. “In our country, I believe, girls should not learn martial arts or self-defense because I feel they should feel free to walk anywhere, anytime, anyplace. But unfortunately, because of some dirty people they have to learn self-defense,” Akshay stated. “I am running a school in Mumbai and I want to open one school here in Delhi but I don’t know when it will happen. I just want to tell you one thing – if a guy touches you, then don’t panic, in fact, hit him back and run,” he added. Akshay revealed that a man is only successful in harassing a girl when she would just freeze and don’t react. “What happens in life – How does a guy succeed in harassing a girl, to get her under control? Because a woman or a girl would just freeze. She doesn’t know when a man touches her; she doesn’t know what to do. So don’t ever freeze, just shout. That is the biggest thing, just shout loudly and run, but don’t freeze,” Akshay explained. Akshay has worked in various action- packed films such as ‘Mohra’, ‘Elaan’, ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Holiday: A solider is never off duty’, Kiladi series, ‘Rustom’ In order to promote ‘Naam Shabana’, Taapsee and Akshay shared a video for teaching self defensive techniques for girls.
