MUMBAI: Actress Deepika Padukone had once expressed her desire to romance Pakistani actor Fawad Khan on-screen, looks like her dream of romancing the very handsome Khan is about to come true. After months of speculations, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s search has ended and he has zeroed on Pakistani actor Fawad Khan for his next flick. Bhansali has finalised the 34-year-old Pakistani actor to portray Rof Chittor Padmavati’s Raja, Rawal Ratan Singh. It has already been reported that Deepika Padukone is roped in to portray the title character in Bhansali’s upcoming period epic. Fawad Khan will play Deepika Padukone’s screen husband in his period drama, while Ranveer Singh will play the second lead. Fawad Khan was in Mumbai for the past couple of weeks, finalising the deal. According to Indian media reports, Bhansali wants 200 days from all his lead actors, including Ranveer Singh (plays Alauddin Khilji), Fawad Khan (Rawal Ratan Singh) and Deepika (Padmavati). Fawad has those days to spare. In between, he has Karan Johar’s production, but it should not be a problem as Karan Johar and Bhansali share a good equation. Earlier, the role had been offered to Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Ali Zafar.
