KARACHI: All fashion lovers united under one roof to bid adieu to QMobile Hum Showcase 2017, which was being held at a local hotel of Karachi. A total of seven showcases were held. Here’s what we think of them. SHAMAEEL ANSARI — Shamaeel Ansari displayed a collection titled I Am Red, which made her stand out and tall from everyone. Never once losing her signature appeal, we loved the statement tassels on jacket sleeves, ear pieces and on shirt borders. Featuring a colour palette of brights, pastels and subtle colours mainly, Shamaeel Ansari used floral embroidery and prints on silks, satin and raw silk. ZAHEER ABBAS — fresh from Day 2’s Rizwan Beyg collection, when white was the most dominant colour, Zaheer Abbas’s Cosmology collection was another ivory triumph. We loved the silk white blouses and those straight pants. The black and gold ensemble with nude contrasts looked distinct and very unique, however the top outfit was undoubtedly the net and organza nude shade ball gown. KAYSERIA — Kayseria’s Victoria’s Bengal collection was set in a bright and a subtle colour palette of pink, cream, peach and beige mainly. We saw a lot of net borders for pants and trousers, sharara pants with drapes, cotton and silk saris, embroidered pyjamas with net tops. The detailing and sequincing was impeccable. Crochet and lace made a comeback on the ramp. SANIA MASKATIYA — Sania Maskatiya showcased a luxury prêt/couture collection during her showcase. Embellished cigarette pants paired with jackets, off-shoulder chiffon kaftans, sherwani coats and pants for men, belted organza tops, sequined maxis were some of the key designs. The colour palette was mainly gold, silver and subtle shades for womenswear and dark hues for menswear like grey and black. KHAADI — Khaadi’s Chapter 2 emerged as the true winner of the night, stepping out from its comfort zone of merry prints and perky florals, and showcasing dull shades with stripes, structures, squares and simple shapes as prints and lots of layering. Art on ramp! We loved the accessories like always. The neon colour ensemble featured saris, palazzos, straights shirts and tops. Team Khaadi with Shamoon poured their heart out with this one. AHMED BHAM — Ahmed Bham showcased his menswear collection featuring mauve suits and red jackets. The colour blocking was immaculate with green coats paired with blue pants. Black tuxedos were perfect in their fittings and stitching. UMAR SAYEED — veteran designer Umar Sayeed unveiled his luxury pret/couture collection featuring both western and eastern wear. We saw short dresses, embroidered sharara pants with crop tops, embellished denim jackets, long layered dresses, and sequined pants for womenswear. We absolutely loved the chiffon maxis as well as the red embellished black jackets for men.
