Stars descended upon the Arizona desert on Saturday to pay special tribute to Muhammad Ali at Celebrity Fight Night, the first time in 20 years the event was held without the late boxing champion, who died in June. Actor Harrison Ford was the honored guest for 2017, but most in attendance paid tribute to Ali. The room was decorated with giant photos of Ali in various stages of his life. The scene was topped by his name in lights over a replica of a boxing ring at center stage. “We always like coming here,” Ali’s daughter Laila Ali said before the event. “There is so much love for the Ali family here.” It may have been a star-studded event, but Sharon Stone stole the show at Muhammad Ali at Celebrity Fight Night – an annual fundraiser named in the late boxing legend’s honor. The charity event was conducted Saturday in Phoenix, Arizona at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, the first since Ali’s death aged 74 on June 3, 2016. Sharon, 59, looked sensational on the evening, cutting a glamorous figure in a plunging black gown that clung to her hourglass curves. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Moore roused the crowd with “Take Me to the River,” “God Bless America,” and “Soul Man” led by David Foster and the orchestra. Other performers included Reba, Dennis Quaid, Brooks and Dunn, Colbie Caillat. Mike Love of the Beach Boys closed the night with a medley of the group’s Brian Wilson-penned hits. Harrison Ford and Italian fashion designer Stefano Ricci were honored with the 2017 Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night Awards. Other celebs who attended the weekend events included Sharon Stone, Laila Ali, John Paul DeJoria, Bo Derek, Larry Fitzgerald, Kirk Gibson, Cale Hulse, Robert Kennedy Jr., Larry King, Nancy Lieberman, Gena Lee Nolin, Bob & Renee Parsons (he started Go Daddy, now runs a big foundation wth that co-sponsored), the very funny Melissa Peterman, and uber Olympian Michael Phelps.
