Katy Perry announces new album ‘Witness’

Katy Perry announced her new album 'Witness', the follow-up to 2013's 'Prism', is due out on June 9.

A massive North American tour will follow.

The North American leg of the 'Witness - the Tour' begins from September 7 and will find Perry filling 43 arenas in the US and Canada, with the trek concluding on February 5 in Vancouver.

The stretch of dates include four New York-area shows at each of the tristate area's major arenas: October 2 at Madison Square Garden, October 3 at the revamped Nassau Coliseum, October 8 at Newark's Prudential Centre and October 11 at Brooklyn's Barclays Centre.

Tickets for the 'Witness - The Tour' go on sale to the general public on May 22, although Citi cardholders and Ticketmaster Verified Fan members will have an opportunity to purchase tickets starting from tomorrow (Thursday). Perry's website has full ticket information. One dollar from each ticket purchased will go to the Boys & Girls Club of America. Fans will also have a chance to win free tickets by taking action to support that organization via Global Citizen.

Every ticket purchased for the 'Witness - The Tour' will also be accompanied by a copy of Perry's new album. Witness will likely feature Perry's recent singles "Chained to the Rhythm" and "Bon Appetit," and as evidenced by the album's teaser, a title track called "Witness". This weekend, Perry will serve as the musical guest on the season finale of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
