KARACHI: The concluding day of the prestigious Fashion Pakistan Week Winter Festive 2017 was attended in full by all fashion fraternity. We spotted celebrity front rowers and some of the most happening and busy stalls near the red carpet. Magnum and Beautiful You attracted the most traffic with people excitedly getting their pictures taken at the photo booth, which contained all kinds of fun props. The Magnum stall gave out free customised ice cream to all the guests, with their choice of three toppings. Veteran designer Deepak Perwani of the Fashion Pakistan council, gave out a speech towards the end of the event, announcing dates for the next edition which is scheduled to be held in February next year. Adnan Pardesy Adnan Pardesy’s Riwayat collection was set in a white, gold and black colour palette with lots of heavy embroidery. Tunics, short cholis and heavyset lehngas were dominant throughout the collection, just in time for the upcoming winter wedding season. Statement outfits made models look fierce and dauntless with a tribal feel, a raw look to almost perfect attire giving an almost dangerous edge to quaintly look. Maheen Khan Legendary designer Maheen Khan showcased her collection titled The Lion & The Muse featuring women clad in sulk, net and satin saris, palazzo pants and metallic corsets. The collection was based in a grey, gold and red colour palette. With suits and long flowy bright red coats covered in sparkling embellishments paired with flowy pants, stylish and modish halter tops, shirts with work of stripes – all of these creations looked super classy and uncluttered, signature Maheen Khan, with cuts that hugged the body and yet flowed from shoulder to toe with effortless ease. Nauman Arfeen Nauman Arfeen’s Carnation showcase was an East meets West collection, fusing traditional sharara pants, saris and lehngas with modern bling. The hairdos were done in retro chic style with vintage coifs and buns. It was the men’s wardrobe that spoke volumes of the designer’s fashion acumen. The sherwani coats in a colour palette of gold, beige and ivory stood out for their perfect fittings and minimal embroideries. The women’s collection was desi style ethereal, with velvet embroidered bell-bottoms and fully embellished net coats. Singer Adeel Chaudhry and Naz Ferozi showstopped for the designer. Saira Shakira Saira Shakira’s A Monsoon Wedding collection featured heavily embellished and embroidered pieces consisting of kaftans, straight long shirts with peek-a-boo cuts and embellished pants. Actress Sana Javed showstopped for the designer donning a stunning bridal. The collection was set in a blue, green and peach colour palette. This latest formal/bridal collection of theirs had a touch of signature designs, beautifully blended with fresh contemporary patterns and silhouettes. Truly, a collection that set trends. Sana Safinaz The legendary Sana Safinaz showcased their Roses & Rue collection as FPW Winter Festive’s Grande Finale set in a wide array of colours like pistachio green, blue, nude shades, green, black, grey, ivory, etc. Straight pants with short camisoles and sleeveless overcoats, boat shape neck knee-length shirts with embellished pants and lots of chiffon ruffles were some of the highlights of their collection. Dark green heavily embellished kaftans with loose pants were brilliantly done. Dainty green chiffon and organza floral gowns left the audience spellbound! Short sequined coats for men with straight black pants, dark pant suits, black and matte grey waistcoats atop shalwar kamiz were some of the trends for menswear. The Sana Safinaz finale collection was an exquisite visual monologue and showcased a revival of floral elements. Tena Durrani Tena Durrani opened Day 3 with her Platinum Series collection that featured dainty pink floral peplum tops and embroidered lehngas. The collection consisted of rose gold, champagne and platinum hues in metallic toned sheer fabrics, heavily embellished with Swarovski crystals and other precious reflective materials, embedded in thread work giving a dramatic yet refined glow to the entire collection.
