Sufi music and Qawaali fans are fully aware of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s legacy, which remains unbeatable. There have been various singers that tried to rehash Nusrat Sahab’s music and make remixes out of his Qawaali but nobody has been able to achieve even half the standard of his legendary talent. Rabi Pirzada sang her version of ‘Rashke Qamar’, leaving the audience bewildered. The music video focused on the theme of women empowerment, where Rabi features herself as ‘Bano Killer’. The songstress is seen playing with a cobra snake, voodoo dolls and attacking kidnappers with guns and sharp razors. Females featuring in the clip are strangling hens, dicing and mutilating the voodoo dolls with their sharp razors and eating raw eggs. Rabi informed the media that the aim of the video is to portray ‘women’s strength’ in different ways. Rabi has revealed that she wants to convince men that women don’t need their protection. Rabi adds her touch to the song, making it sound unique and comical for the viewers at the same time as she waves the razors at the kidnappers in the video as they are tied up. While people have responded negatively towards her attempt, she has still managed to portray women in a very bold and daring manner. The video has a very dark and gloomy setting with snakes crawling around and men being beaten up while women show them that they are in charge.
