KARACHI: The concluding day of the coveted QMobile Hum Bridal Couture Week 2017, held showcases by seven esteemed designers, styled by Sweet Touch. Vaneeza Ahmad was the choreographer for the three-day event, which was organised and arranged by the creative team behind Hum. Annus Abrar Next up was Annus Abrar with a collection that was rich in bold shades and dark hues. Titled Shehnai, the collection paid tribute to the festive season with knee-length shirts and gold shararas. Neelam Munir showstopped for the designer looking radiant in a white lehnga and floral choli with duppata. Asifa & Nabeel Dynamic duo Asifa & Nabeel opened Act 1 with their collection Roaring Melodrama. The designers maintained their signature touch of dainty florals and subtle colours. Maxi dresses, sleeveless angrakhas and silver bridals were the highlight of the collection. Shahzad Sheikh and Kubra Khan showstopped for the designers. Nickie Nina Nickie Nina put forth a collection that was rich in peplum tops, heavily embroidered pants, farshi ghararas, short embellished shirts, and tunng pyjamas. Jamawar, net, organza and raw silk were the dominant fabrics. The collection may not have set trends but was marketable, wearable and involved a lot of intricate work. Sumbal Iqbal showstopped for the designer duo, wearing a stunning silver choli and a farshi gharara. Emraan Rajput Emraan Rajput was next up with his collection titled Chashme Shahi. Featuring menswear mainly, the collection saw printed waistcoats with bold coloured shirts and trousers. Junaid Khan showstopped for the designer wearing a black and gold sherwani and pants. Ahsan’s Menswear Next up was Ahsan’s Menswear. The UK-based designer showcased sherwanis, short coats, straight pants and heavily-embroidered jackets. The collection was laden with heavy embellishments and statement brooches. Sana Abbas Sana Abbas closed Act 1 with her collection titled Noor. The collection was based in pastels and silver colour palette with maxi dresses and lehnga choli. Sonya Hussain showstopped for Sana Abbas, wearing a long embellished shirt with gharara. Sonya Battla Sonya Battla with the grand finale, brought the house down with a stunningly-unique collection rich in velvet, bold colours, organza and ney duppatas. We loved the dark green and gold choli and off white duppatas. Actress Humaima Malick showstopped for the designer, wearing a beautiful white and gold shirt and lehnga. Band Fusion performed during Sonya Battla’s collection.
