Sir: The Earth’s temperature is increasing every year just because of carelessness of human beings. People cut trees, depleting forests and greenery, which are a good source of oxygen while the ozone layer is being destroyed due to smoke emitting from factories and bomb attacks. Poor states such as the Maldives, which cannot even make bombs nor do they have big factories are badly affected by global warming. If more countries plant more trees, and stop buying or selling oil it could be a solution but what about other states that are contributing to global warming? It is high time that heads of states paid attention to this phenomenon and took necessary measures to protect our environment for the sake of humanity. SHOAIB AHMED Turbat
