Sir: In this modern age, children use technology in many ways with their parents having a little or no control over it what so ever. Despite putting on age gates and many more preventive measures on the internet and television, children still cannot be kept away from bad things. Among such things, the major concern of parents is the slapstick comedy which is shown in almost every cartoon airing on children’s prime time. This is shaping their minds in such a way that instead of feeling sympathetic for the character who is run over by a car or the one who has jumped off the cliff they consider it hilarious. Not only this, the advertisements are also portraying the same image where characters are beating each other over petty issues. It is the viewers’ responsibility to take an action against it and the channel mafia to air something good. It’s not that all cartoons are bad for children. UROOSA JADOON Islamabad
