Sir: The Pakistan’s largest park, Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP) in Gilgit- Baltistan, has been completed for the past 20 years but still lacks an efficient management. The CKNP covers an area of 10,000 square kilometres. Owing to a lack of information about parks, the management is unable to formulate a sustainable plan for it. A proposal draft has been repeatedly presented by the Social Economic Environment Development, but the government did not give a go-ahead to the plan. The officials of CKNP are still awaiting approval. The aim of that plan is to have rules and regulation, natural resources, pastures and other management for tourism. These plans will also help other parks. I request the government to approve the park’s management plan. SANAULLAH SAMAD Turbat
