Sir: Ramazan is a month of blessings. Muslims, who have surplus funds contribute in charity and donations to the less fortunate. Allah praises those who will spend their money in the charity and giving alms. Nevertheless, unfortunately, in Pakistan, the concept of giving charity to the needy was not fulfilled the way it should be. Most of the people give their funds to the NGO’s and other organisations – which is not bad – but sometimes the people who are more penurious are deprived of it. Moreover, professional beggars are another leading issue of our society. Their ultimate aim is to collect funds in the name of religion. Moreover, the most people of our society give their charity to the private channels which receive funds directly for the recipients. But the primary purpose is ensuring that this money reaches the needy. Therefore, we must make sure that our charity brings out change and help the poor people to come out of poverty. People need to be educated in this regard to utilising these donations in the best possible way. HADIA AZIZ Islamabad
