Sir: Ramzan is around the corner. This time the holy month comes at a time when there is intense heat. The government needs to ensure that that this religious duty is performed in an environment of maximum possible relief. The prime minister convened a special meeting and directed the secretary for water and power to ensure the maximum possible relief by minimising power outages.Furthermore, the ministry of water and power will increase the daily supply of 24,000 tons of oil up to 30,000 tons to thermal power plants in order to increase electricity supply.Though such measures cannot possibly eliminate load shedding, it is hoped that if applied in letter and in spirit they can surely give people timely relief in the holy month.
