Sir: The bill presented by law minister Rana Sanaullah prohibits ostentatious celebration across the province of Punjab. According to the bill, the person organising the marriage shall not decorate streets, roads or public park or any other place other than the building in which the ceremony is taking place. The marriage site shall ensure conclusion of all ceremonies relating to marriage on or before 10:00 pm. Moreover more than one dish is not allowed. If any person violates any of the section, he will be guilty of an offence punishable with simple imprisonment for a certain term and a fine will be imposed not less than 50,000. This step taken by punjab government is really appreciable and admirable as it result in less marriage breakups, officiators and discriminators. Hope to have such laws passed in assemblies all over Pakistan . WAJIHA MASUD Karachi
