Sir: The significance of cleanliness cannot be denied by any society because it plays an essential role in one’s life. It is a well known fact that cleanliness is something that carries enormous benefits. Cleanliness helps save people from many diseases. Unfortunately, cleanliness is being ignored in our country. Big cities like Karachi, Gwadar and Turbat are in a mess. In these cities, streets are flooded with garbage and hospitals are very untidy. The residents of these cities suffer from different kinds of diseases due to drinking dirty water and eating unhygienic food. I would not be wrong to say that Pakistan is the only country where cleanliness is not being given proper attention. Garbage is thrown on roads, in front of houses and many other places but no attention is paid to remove this garbage. It is my humble request to the government and concerned authorities to take serious action to resolve this issue. MOHSIN BASHEER Turba
